madrid’s calle arganzuela is not only one of the oldest city streets, being an historic route from the fountain at its upper end down to the river manzanares, as revealed in the story of how it got its name, now dramatised . It is also in the area which every sunday is the famous hillside flea market of El Rastro. La casa de los jacintos alternative cultuiral space is based there.
To mark the ocasion of a performance by Rinbus van Alebeek and Zan Hoffman, it was decided to use two lengths of tape found dumped in the same street two years earlier almost to the day, and this convert it into a stage whilst leaving a trail, not of water as in days gone by, but of tape and sound.
